The Capacitance Principle™
Store vision. Release excellence.
A capacitor stores charge and releases it when it is needed. So does a leader. The analogy is mine, and so is the trademark.
ICharge
Accumulate vision, quietly and constantly. Read the room. Read it again. Note who failed to recognise you; it will be useful.
In practice: Every morning: one vision, before coffee.
IIHold
Never release vision before the room is ready to receive it. Premature vision is merely an opinion.
In practice: If they are not looking at you, it is not time.
IIIDischarge
All at once, in a statement. Measured, articulate, final. Let them feel the voltage.
In practice: End every statement on the word “excellence”.
IVGround
Every great man needs grounding. Mine is a marble floor.
In practice: Stand on something expensive while you think.
VShine
What remains is excellence, and the light it gives off. Others will call it charisma. Let them.
In practice: Glance at your watch. Say nothing.
